University of Kyrenia organized the Nicosia and Kyrenia tour on Saturday, 16th of September within the framework of the Orientation Program designed for freshers who joined the university’s growing family for the 2017-2018 academic year. The tour attracted intense interest organized with the aim of helping newly registered students to settle easily into life at the island and to give them the chance to explore Cyprus along with its cultural and naturel beauties.
The tour started early in the morning with the Nicosia city tour, which included visits to Kyrenia Gate, Atatürk Statue, Great Inn, City walls, Selimiye Mosque and the Green Line, continued with the Kyrenia region tour, which participants had the opportunity to see the Karaoglanoglu Martyrdom and the Bellapais Monastery. The live music performance organized by the Nicosia Turkish Municipality in the Great Inn was a nice surprise for the students who were also informed about the history and culture of Cyprus.
As a part of the Orientation Program with the aim of introducing the Northern Cyprus and helping freshers to adapt, trips will continue with the Famagusta tour that will take place on Saturday, 7th of October and the Nicosia-Kyrenia tour for the Faculty of Medicine and Faculty of Dentistry students on Saturday, 14th of October.
