Immigration Procedures (Student Residence Permit)
  • Student Residence Permit Procedures consist of a mandatory process that students who will study in an associate, undergraduate, postgraduate or doctoral program in higher education institutions in TRNC go through to be able to legally stay in the country for the duration of their studies.
  • You must have an active student status to start the student residence permit procedures. For this reason, you should complete your registration at the university within a maximum of 2 months as of your entrance to the country.
  • Once you are registered at the university, you should initiate the Residence Permit Procedures via https://permissions.gov.ct.tr/login link.
  • Sign up to the System and create your account. Make sure that the information you submit during the registration matches the information you have provided to the university.
  • You will receive your user code and password either via e-mail or mobile text after you submit the required personal information. You will use the user code and password to access the Residence Permit webpage.
  • You should choose the duration you prefer for the visa (6 months – 1 year ) once you access the webpage.
  • Once you choose the duration of your visa, the system will take you to the 2nd step which is the health procedures section.
  • The blood sample must be submitted to the laboratory (to be specified on the system) within a maximum of 1 week. If you exceed the specified time limit, you will have to re-complete all the previously completed steps.
  • Wait for the approval of the Ministry of Health.
  • Move on to the 3rd step, Tax Office Procedures, after your health report is approved by the Ministry of Health. Complete the tax payment and wait for the approval of the Tax Office.
  • Once you receive approval from the Tax Office, the System will take you to the 4th step, the Immigration Office Approval. The Residence Permit Procedures will be completed once the Immigration Office approves your procedures.

Important Points to Take into Account

  • Enter TRNC with a Passport.
  • Complete your university registration and student permit procedures within a maximum of 2 months following your entrance to TRNC.
  • Payments to be made during the Residence Permit process will only be rendered online.
  • Health reports for Residence Permit are only issued from TRNC.
  • Students who completed their university registration procedures via Registration and Liaison Offices in Turkey, can initiate Student Residence Permit procedures directly after entering the country.
  • Pursuant to the TRNC laws, students who do not complete the mentioned procedures will fall into fugitive status and will be subject to financial penalty and deportation to be imposed by the Police Department. Our university is not liable for such situations, including diploma approval at graduation.
