University of Kyrenia’s Orientation Program organized with the aim of helping newly registered students to adapt to the Island, to give them the chance to explore the cultural and natural beauties of Cyprus and to improve their educational motivation, continued with the Salamis ancient city and Famagusta city tours.
Freshers who joined the university’s growing family for the 2017-2018 academic year toured and listened with intense interest to the historical information given by the guide at the ancient city of Salamis with the opportunity to visit the historical structures such as the Roman Theatre, Gymnasium and Baths.
The tour continued with visits to the historical sites of Famagusta, such as the Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque, Famagusta Castle, the walls of the old city, Othello Castle and Namık Kemal Dungeon. The students who listened with intense interest to the historical information given by the guide were happy to rest under the 720 years old cumbez (tropical fig) tree, ending the tour feeling tired but also happy with the trip and taking plenty of photographs.
Orientation Program tours organized with the aim of introducing Northern Cyprus and helping freshers to adapt will end on the 14th of October, with the second Nicosia-Kyrenia tour.
