The drone team, which is the pride of the University of Kyrenia, consists of students from the Faculty of Engineering and the Faculty of Aviation and Space Sciences of the University of Kyrenia. This team is preparing to participate in the Teknofest International Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Competition by achieving a new success in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The University of Kyrenia Drone Team, which produced the country’s first domestic unmanned aerial vehicle, will have the opportunity to showcase the technical skills and creativity of university students with this competition. At the same time, this competition, which aims to increase interest in aviation technologies, allows University of Kyrenia students to represent their school in the national and international arena.
The leader of the team, Ahmet Furkan Laz, is the head of the team’s design, having produced Northern Cyprus’ first domestic UAV last year. In addition, talented students such as Mustafa Kıcıkoğlu, Mehmet Ali Oruç, Ediz Çetin, Fatih Diner, Veysel Çağrı Karadavut and Altan Emirhan Başer are among the important members of the team.
The team, which continues its preparations with determination, aims to represent the University of Kyrenia in the best way possible at the Teknofest International Unmanned Aerial Vehicle Competition. In addition, this competition is expected to contribute to attracting more national and international attention to aviation technologies in Northern Cyprus and the talents of university students.
