“University of Kyrenia 2020-2021 Fall Semester Graduation Ceremony” has been held online on Friday, February 12, 2021.
Rector Prof. Dr. İlkay Salihoğlu, vice-rectors, general secretary, deans, vice deans, department heads, academicians, lecturers, students and families attended the online ceremony.
Ceremony, which started after a moment of silence and the National Anthem, followed by the opening speech that delivered by the Rector Prof. Dr. İlkay Salihoğlu.
Salihoğlu stated that even the graduation ceremonies are special events that give us the opportunity to share closely the success and happiness of the students, this year due to the current conditions they couldn’t organize a face to face ceremony.
Thanking the academic staff of the University of Kyrenia for bringing the graduates up to this level today, Prof. Dr. İlkay Salihoğlu stated they are proud to be an institution that gives confidence to families.
Underlying that the graduates have succeed after a challenging education process, Salihoğlu also expressed his gratitude to the Günsel family for every financial and moral support they have given to University of Kyrenia to make it a modern and complete educational institution.
Later, Devan Jessie Aaron Rudolph from Faculty Aviation and Space Sciences Aeronautical Engineering Department and Selim Fırıncıoğulları from Faculty of Maritime Studies Maritime Transportation Management Engineering Department expressed their feelings with their sincere speeches that they delivered on behalf of 2020-2021 Fall Semester graduates.
In the next part of the ceremony which has been presented by Fatma Çoşkun Özlatif from the Communication and Corporate Relations Department and Pembe Omorfolu from the International Office, the names of the 33 graduates from the Faculties of Maritime Management and Administration, Maritime Studies, Education, Aviation and Space Sciences, Architecture and Vocational School of Health Services and Graduate School of Social Sciences have been announced.
Abdırızak Mohamed Mohamud, became the first graduate student of the Graduate School of Social Sciences Department of Aviation Management Master’s Program.
At the end of the online ceremony Vocational School of Health Services graduates under the leadership of the Director Prof. Dr. Arzu Babayiğit and their classmate Petek Yaşlı recited their oath together.
