Every year our University of Kyrenia family is growing and for our new students who have registered for the 2019 – 2020 academic year UoK has organized Nicosia, Kyrenia and Famagusta tours in the framework of the orientation program.
The tours has been held on the 24th, 25th and 27th of September, which has been organized in order to help our newly registered students adapt to the island, to learn the history, culture and natural beauties of Cyprus, and also for our students to start their new academic life with motivation.
During the tour of Nicosia, new students started the tour through the Kyrenia Gate and had the opportunity to see and visit historical buildings such as the Great Inn, Selimiye Mosque, Bedesten and Bandabulya.
The Kyrenia tour began with a visit to the Bellapais Monastery followed by the Karaoglanoglu Martyrdom and Kyrenia Castle. During the guided visit of the castle, which attracted great interest of the students, the participants also visited the Shipwreck Museum and received detailed information.
On the last day of the tours, the students first visited the ancient city of Salamis and then the historical places of Famagusta such as Lala Mustafa Pasha Mosque, Suriçi and Namık Kemal Dungeon.
Participants, who showed great interest in the tours, expressed that they would like for such activities to continue and that it enabled them to socialize, meet new friends and participate in social activities together.
