The ‘Coast Guard and Employment’ presentation took place at UoK

Colonel Tarkan Düzgünçınar and Colonel Mehmet Yakın, from the Turkish Coast Guard Command came together with the students under the leadership of the Faculty of Maritime studies.

The Acting Dean M. Fatih Hüseyinoğlu, academicians and students attended the event which included a presentation by Colonel Tarkan Düzgünçinar who expressed his satisfaction for being invited to University of Kyrenia and meeting the students for the third time.

Providing information about the structure of the Coast Guard Command, as well as information about areas of duty, Düzgünçınar emphasized that among their responsibilities, the most important duty is saving lives and sea safety. Colonel Tarkan Düzgünçınar, who gave examples of their different work areas from the protection of the marine environment and resources to the fight against irregular migration, also provided detailed information on staffing and training.

At the end of the presentation, Colonel Tarkan Düzgünçınar and Colonel Mehmet Yakın answered the questions together. Assoc. Prof. Dr. M. Fatih Hüseyinoğlu thanked both speakers and presented a gift.
