In the 5th International Conference on Natural Resources and Sustainable Environmental Management (5th International Conference on Natural Resources and Sustainable Environmental Management) organized by Near East University online between 8-12 November, Nobel Prize winners from 22 countries and 49 universities will take part. 99 invited speakers will come together to carry out a global vision study on global warming and climate change.
In the congress that will continue for five days, there will be 99 invited speakers from all over the world including members of the IPCC Working Group, Prof. Dr. Zekai Şen and 2007 Nobel Peace Prize winner Dr. Azhari Ahmed. Participants from 22 countries and 49 universities from all over the world such as Switzerland, England, India, USA, Canada, Mexico, Tunisia, Iran, Croatia, Indonesia, and Australia, especially the TRNC and Turkey, will make presentations and the total number of countries participating in the conference is about 50.
49 universities and 62 institutions worldwide support the conference.
A total of 62 institutions and foundations will participate in the conference, including the Ministry of Environment, Urbanization and Climate Change, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, the Ministry of National Education and Culture of the TRNC, the Union of Engineers and Architects of the Turkic World, TURKSOY, and Turkey Azerbaijan Friendship, Cooperation and Solidarity Foundation.
The congress, which will be held on the official YouTube channel of the Near East University and via google will cover a total of 95 sub-titles under 14 main titles in simultaneous sessions for five days. The main topics to be discussed will be listed as follows: water resources management, water policies and planning, sustainability and water, water and wastewater treatment, aquatic ecosystems, groundwater, wetland systems, clean energy and water, clean energy and environment, energy and geothermal, environment with artificial intelligence tools in integrated water resource management, solid waste management, waste disposal and recycling, environment, hydrology and climate research.
Papers will be published in 16 of the world’s most prestigious scientific journals.
The 5th International Conference on Natural Resources and Sustainable Environmental Management aims to discuss feasible solutions in the field of natural resources and environmental management, and to share innovative visions and ideas for solving current problems in natural resources and environmental management by creating a bridge between government policymakers and scientists. In addition, the papers to be presented at the conference, which is closely followed by the scientific world, will be published in 16 journals among the most respected journals in the world, such as “Environmental Earth Science”, “Sustainable Water Resources Management”, “Discover Water”, and “Water”.

The conference to be organized by the Near East University Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering will be chaired by the dean of the faculty Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Gökçekuş. Stating that with the International Conference on Natural Resources and Sustainable Environmental Management, they aim to provide experts, academics and researchers working in related fields with the chance to share the latest research results and developments, examine the latest technology and establish international cooperation. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Gökçekuş said, “With this conference, we aim to provide intellectual guidance and scientific evidence on the challenges of global warming and climate change based on a humane and critical thinking approach, and to promote research and education to build equality in the global community and more sustainable societies.”
Stating that they attach great importance to the support of the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Environment and Urbanization, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, and the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources to the conference, and that the Deputy Ministers will make the opening speech on behalf of the ministries, Prof. Dr. Gökçekuş said, “The fact that esteemed politicians and scientists supporting the conference and presenting papers, as well as making speeches at the opening of the conference, will not only make a great contribution to our conference, but also honor us.
