2022-2023 Fall Term 24 November Teachers' Day was celebrated at the University of Kyrenia, Library Conference Hall with our rector Prof. Dr. İlkay Salihoğlu, Vice Rectors Prof. Dr. Gökmen Dağlı, Prof. Dr. Rüveyde Bundak, deans, heads of departments, professors, Near East University Social Research and Development Centre Presidents Prof. Dr. Zehra Altınay and Prof. Dr. Fahriye Altınay, lecturer from the Department of English Language Teaching and author of the "Values of Northern Cyprus Series" Assoc. Assoc. Prof. Dr Mutlu Soykurt and our valuable students.

After the minute of silence and the National Anthem, the programme continued with the opening speech of Prof. Dr. Gökmen Dağlı, Vice Rector of University of Kyrenia and Dean of the Faculty of Education at University of Kyrenia.

Prof. Dr. Gökmen Dağlı, in his opening speech, talked about the educational processes from our past to the present, educational philosophies and understandings, the qualities and characteristics that should be in the teaching profession, and ended his speech with memories and words describing the value Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk gave to teachers.

The first speech on 24 November Teachers' Day was delivered by Prof. Dr. Zehra Altınay, Head of the Social Research and Development Centre of Near East University. In her speech, the meaning and importance of the day, as well as the meaning and importance of the day, education, teaching, learning, qualities and characteristics that should and should not be in the teaching profession in the light of an academic study with a scientific approach were conveyed to the participants in the form of a presentation with slides.

Prof. Dr. Mutlu Soykurt, lecturer at the University of Kyrenia, Faculty of Education, Department of English Language Teaching and author of the Values of Northern Cyprus Series. In the speech, Gazi Mustafa Kemal Ataturk's sublime duties such as military service and presidency, as well as his title of head teacher and his attitudes towards our teachers and students, which include our future generations, and his words were given.

The ceremony ended with a slide show with pictures and quotes of Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk explaining the value he gave to teachers, a video and then a cocktail for the participants.
