The Faculty of Aviation and Space Sciences organized an online panel titled as “One of The Fastest Recovering Aviation Market During the Pandemic ; Russia “ on 4 June 2021.
Cavit Çolak, Nordwind Airline Fare and Ancillary Revenues Manager and Bekir Bıyıklı Network and Planning Manager joined the panel as speakers in which academicians and students showed interest.

At the opening speech, Panel Moderator lecturer of UoK MSc. Nevzat Arşan thanked the Head of Aviation Management Department Asst. Prof. Dr. Nalan Gelirli for organizing the panel that aims to inform students about the factors that enable Russian aviation to develop fast and accurate strategies during the pandemic.

Speakers started their speeches by introducing themselves and provided detailed information on the Nordwind Airline which established in 2008.

Çolak and Bıyıklı also mentioned the world passenger traffic development by numbers before and after Covid and underlined that according to the IATA passenger volumes are expected to return to 2019 levels in 2024 with the help of worldwide vaccination program.


They said that as a reaction after pandemic they have decreased their international routes and instead increased their flights in domestic market and they have changed some of their passenger aircrafts to cargo.

During the interactive panel, speakers also answered the questions of participants on their company’s aircraft fleet, coast management strategies during pandemic, their destinations and competitive advantages in the market.

Speakers shared also the global market after Covid recovery statistics in which Russia has the 5th place by underlying the key factors that brought the country to this level.
The panel ended with question and answer session.
