University of Kyrenia Uniform transition from summer uniform to winter uniform took place on the 1st of November 2018 on campus with various competitions organized for the students. Academic and administrative staff, and students from other faculties participated in the activities along with the students and academicians from the Maritime programs.
The event started with the opening speech presented by the Deputy Dean of Maritime Faculty, Assoc. Prof. Dr. M. Fatih Hüseyinoğlu, which continued with a presentation of the competitions both in Turkish and English by Serkan Fidan, a first year student of the Marine Engineering Department and Prince Sogbeye Jim Lawson, also a student of the Marine Engineering Department.
The event included a prediction game, mariner ties, rope throwing and rope pulling competitions which took place between the academicians and the Deck department and Marine Engineering students. The winners of the rope pulling competition was the team of students from the Marine Engineering Department.
After the winners received their prizes, white beans and rice, the traditional menu of Sunday Lunch of Turkish ships was served for the closing of the events.
