The Board of Directors of the University of Kyrenia has held a meeting on February 19, 2021, and the following decisions were taken applicable for the 2020-2021 academic year Spring Semester.
- After the spread of Covid-19, the academic calendar of the University of Kyrenia 2020-2021, which was rearranged and announced in March 2020, will be implemented without any change.
- During the Academic Calendar, the YÖK’s GUIDELINES FOR COVID-19 MEASURES TO BE APPLIED IN UNIVERSITY CAMPUSES dated 7 October 2020 will be meticulously followed and applied in order to ensure a healthy education,
- Considering the students’ demands, all theoretical courses will be conducted hybrid as in the Fall semester, also in the Spring semester.
- Intern students of the Faculty of Medicine will continue their education face-to-face as in the Fall semester, also in the Spring semester.
- The Faculty of Dentistry first and 2nd classes conduct their classes online. While 3rd and 4th classes will conduct their theoretical lessons online, and their applied lessons will be done face-to-face in the 3rd grade as of March 15, 2021, and in the 4th grade, as of March 1, 2021.
- Faculty of Health Sciences students will conduct their applied courses at Dr. Suat Günsel University of Kyrenia Hospital, at Nicosia Nalbantoğlu Hospital, and in other hospitals of the Republic of Turkey that approved by the Dean’s Office.
- VSHS students will complete their 1-month internship in TRNC and T.R. hospitals that approved by the Directorate of the Vocational School of Health Services, and students that cannot find internship opportunities in Turkey may come to TRNC in order to complete their internship at Dr. Suat Günsel University of Kyrenia Hospital.
- Faculty of Aviation and Space sciences (1) Pilotage students will continue their practice face-to-face at contracted flight schools, (2) Aeronautical Engineering students will complete their internships in practice or as deemed appropriate by the Faculty.
- Students of the Faculty of Maritime Studies will carry out their short and long-term maritime internships with methods approved by the TR Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, General Directorate of Maritime Affairs.
- Maritime Vocational School students will carry out short and long-term maritime internships with methods approved by the TR Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, General Directorate of Maritime Affairs.
- In all other programs that require applied courses and summer internships, acceptable methods, which the Program Authorized Boards will deem appropriate, will be applied.
- According to the course of the epidemic, new regulations can be made in line with the decisions to be taken by YÖK, YÖDAK, and the TRNC Council of Ministers in the future.
