The 69th Semester Congress of the International Association of Dental Students (IADS), which represents more than 200 thousand dental students worldwide, will be hosted by the Northern Cyprus Association of Dental Students (NCADS) between 19-24 February. NCADS was competing with Tunisia and India to host the congress that will bring together world dental students in the TRNC.
The 69th Semester Congress of the International Association of Dental Students (IADS), which represents more than 200 thousand dentistry students in approximately 70 countries around the world, will be hosted by the Northern Cyprus Dental Students Association (NCADS) between 19-24 February in 2023. The decision to host the congress, which will bring together the world’s dental students in the TRNC, was taken as a result of the elections voted by 30 countries.
NCADS General Secretary Dentist Serra Özdenak and NCADS Foreign Affairs Trainee Dentist Bersun Elif Özer, graduates of the Near East University Faculty of Dentistry, who attended the International Association of Dental Students Congress held in Jordan, started the congress nomination process of the Northern Cyprus Association of Dental Students.
TRNC competed with Tunisia and India for the congress
To host the 69th Semester Congress of the International Association of Dental Students (IADS), the dental student unions of Tunisia and India, as well as the TRNC, put forward their candidacy. As a result of the election in which 30 countries voted, it was decided by a majority of the votes that the 69th Semester Congress to be held in the TRNC, hosted by NCADS.
Successful representation of NCADS at the second congress held in Almata, Kazakhstan by Near East University Faculty of Dentistry students, NCADS Social Affairs Intern, Intern Ali El Kasım, and one of its graduates, 2021-2022 National Student Exchange Officer Dentist Nazgöl Ravanbakhsh was one of the determining factors.
