The “Walled City Museum” will be the second museum opened by the Near East University in the center of Nicosia, after the “Gunsel Art Museum” opened in Dereboyu in February. The artworks to be exhibited in the “Walled City Museum” will offer a wide range of visual arts. In the museum, oil and acrylic paintings, original prints, gravure, linoleum, serigraphy, lithography, decals, sculpture, busts, silicon sculptures, photographs and ceramic works will be presented to art lovers. In addition, many materials belonging to the social, cultural and political past of Nicosia will be exhibited in the museum. Designed as a living museum with temporary and permanent exhibitions to be held, the “Walled City Museum” will be one of the permanent addresses of art lovers and culture enthusiasts. The Ottoman Empire’s conquest of Nicosia, the British arrival on the island and the 20 July 1974 Peace Operation were depicted on the ceilings of the museum, which has a unique visual feast as well.
