The “Dr. Suat Günsel Tournament”, which is hosted by the University of Kyrenia, commenced with the match that was played between University of Kyrenia and Hatay Municipality.

It was stated that this tournament acted like a preparation tournament for the new basketball season which will start soon. As a result of this match, University of Kyrenia lost the game against Hatay B.Ş.B with a score of 78-74.

According to the press info release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of University of Kyrenia, the match was played at the indoor sports hall of Near East University, RA25, and the University of Kyrenia ended the first period with a few points behind Hatay Municipality.; 26-29. The second period was played in a rather challenging manner and once again Hatay Municipality leaded the period with 45-47. The third period was completed with the advantage of Hatay over University of Kyrenia with a score of 66-61. Finally, the last period was ended with 78-74, where the University of Kyrenia lost the match.
