The winning works of the 3rd International Photography Contest will meet art lovers at the exhibition to be opened on January 29

The winners of the 3rd International Photography Contest organized by the Near East University Communication Research Center (İLAMER) will meet photography lovers at the exhibition that will be opened at the Atatürk Culture and Congress Center Exhibition Hall on January 29, with the participation of the Minister of Internal Affairs Dursun Oğuz. At the event, which will start at 16.00, the opening of the “Fine Arts January Exhibition”, which is the 454th exhibition of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, will also be held.

The third “International Cinema Symposium”, which has turned into a traditional event by the Near East University Communication Research Center and the Department of Radio, Television and Cinema, was held last week with the participation of more than 70 academicians from different countries. Organized within the scope of the symposium “3. The winning works of the “International Photography Contest” will meet art lovers with the exhibition to be opened at the Near East University Atatürk Culture and Congress Center Exhibition Hall on Monday, January 29, at 16.00, with the participation of the Minister of Internal Affairs Dursun Oğuz. At the same event, the opening of the “Fine Arts January Exhibition”, which is the 454th exhibition of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, will also be held.

This year, many photographers from various countries of the world attended to 3rd International Photography Contest held with the themes of “100 of Republic and Cultural Heritage at the 100th Anniversary of Republic”, with over 300 photos. The winners of the competition, in which 220 works were deemed worthy of evaluation, have been determined by a jury consisting of Prof. Dr. Ali Muhammmed Bayraktaroğlu, Prof. Dr. Osman Ürper, Prof. Dr. Ata Yakup Kaptan, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmet Beyhan Özdemir and Gazi Yüksel.

In the jury’s evaluation, Birol Kıraç placed first, Onur Kuter placed second, and Derya Uzman Atasevar placed third, with their works in the theme of “100 of Republic and Cultural Heritage at the 100th Anniversary of Republic”. In the theme of “Preservation of Culture and Cultural Heritage”, Yalçın Çiftçi won the first and third prizes with his two different photographs, while Mukaddes Abdullahoğlu won the second prize. The winner of the drone photography category was Yakup Sayak. In addition to the winners, the works of Adem Güleş, Barbaros Odabaş, Derin Yolsal, Fatih Yılmaz, Muhammet Özen, Musa Talaşlı, Osman Arsal, Tevfik Ulual, Ufuk Turpcan’s works have been deemed worthy of exhibition that will be opened on January 29th.

50 works will be opened to visitors with the Fine Arts January Exhibition

Another exhibition that will be opened at 16.00 on Monday, January 29, with the participation of Minister of Internal Affairs Dursun Oğuz, will be the Fine Arts January Exhibition. With the January Exhibition, 50 works consisting of paintings, sculptures, ceramics, printmaking and stained glass made by the artist-academics of the Near East University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design and the artists of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts will be presented to art lovers.
