Organized by the University of Kyrenia Continuing Education Center (SEM), a panel will be hosted by Professor Doctor Ilkay Salihoğlu, Acting Rector of the University of Kyrenia, at the Grand Library Hall 2 that located in the campus of the Near East University. The Panel, which will take place at 14:00 on Friday November 6, 2015, will provide platform for experts to debate issues regarding production, economy and future of aquaculture and investments to be made in this field in TRNC.
According to the press release from the Directorate of Press & Public Relations Office of the University of Kyrenia, Kılıç Holding, which is the sector leader in seafood export with the biggest aquaculture capacity in Turkey, declared that the Holding was planning to make investments in TRNC. Upon this declaration, the University of Kyrenia Continuing Education Center has put the issue on its agenda and decided to organize a panel in order to provide platform to discuss all aspects of aquaculture economy and its investment climate. The panel will address this important issue in a comprehensive manner.

Touching upon the significant role of investments in the development of a country’s economy, Asst. Prof. Dr. Wayne Fuller underlined that North Cyprus is an island country with coastal environments appropriate to aquaculture production as a viable industry. “It is essential to foster investments in this sector as investments will provide both our country and the investor with great opportunities. In order to make this investment opportunity more fruitful and to create public awareness on aquaculture production, we are organizing a panel to provide platform for field experts to discuss the issue and share information” said he.
