Organized by the Foundation of University of Kyrenia, the first elementary interscholastic mathematics competition will be held at the University of Kyrenia. Considering that competitions are an important part of learning mathematics and a fun activity for students, the event will be held annually on a traditional basis.
Within a scientific framework, the University of Kyrenia Foundation is organizing an elementary interscholastic mathematics competition in order to increase the interscholastic interaction, provide opportunities for students to fuse with each other, demonstrate the different aspects of mathematics in a pleasant environment, increase their motivation and interest in mathematics as well as encouraging them to develop innovative perspectives.
According to the press release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of the university, the University of Kyrenia Foundation will organize an elementary interscholastic mathematics competition. Teams consisting of three students and three teachers to assist the students from each school can participate in the competition. Teams ranking the top in the competition will be awarded. All participating students and teachers will be given participation certificate. The competition will consist of three stages. Students and their teachers, who complete the first stage successfully and gain the right to compete in the second stage, will be given a success plaque along with participation certificate. Students, teachers and schools ranking the top three will be awarded with ranking plaques.
The University of Kyrenia will grant computers and scholarship awards to the winners of the competition …
Three computers will be awarded to the school of the team ranking the top and a tablet pc will be given to each of the team teacher. Two computers will be given to the school of the team ranking the second and a computer to the school of the third ranking team. Besides, the top ranking three students will be awarded with “full scholarship for secondary education”, “half scholarship for secondary education” and “quarter scholarship for secondary education” respectively.

Applications shall be submitted to the University of Kyrenia not later than March 9, 2016. Applications are free of charge.
