The University of Kyrenia moves forward by taking firm steps in the field of maritime and aviation. Works regarding cooperation with associations and institutions specialized on maritime and aviation issues have been expedited.

According to the info released by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of the University of Kyrenia, cooperation protocols were signed between the University of Kyrenia and the most important maritime and aviation organizations and institutions located in the nearby geography. In order to enhance academic excellence by joint projects, the University of Kyrenia has signed cooperation protocols with Istanbul Technical University, Azerbaijan State Marine Academy, Samsun 19 Mayıs University and Giresun University. Within the framework of the cooperation protocols signed between the parties, the University of Kyrenia and the aforementioned universities will carry out joint scientific and cultural projects and studies regarding maritime and aviation issues. The objective of the protocols that the University of Kyrenia signed with Samsun 19 Mayıs University and İstanbul Technical University (İTÜ) is to facilitate and promote educational and cultural collaborations between parties and develop joint projects concerning aviation and space sciences. The protocol signed between the University of Kyrenia and Azerbaijan State Marine Academy envisages joint scientific studies in the fields of maritime and marine sciences, and intense collaboration in the fields of education-training and culture. Within the frame of the protocol signed between the University of Kyrenia and Giresun University, the parties will carry out well-rounded scientific and cultural studies jointly.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees, Prof. Dr. İlkay Salihoğlu has signed the protocols on behalf of the University of Kyrenia. Drawing attention to the significant role of academic cooperative relationships and their impacts on education, Prof. Dr. Salihoğlu said: The University of Kyrenia with its international student and academic staff profile has made significant leaps towards to become a global authority in the nearby geography particularly in the fields of maritime education and scientific research. We have signed cooperation protocols with other higher education institutions located in our surrounding geography. The objective of the protocols is to enhance quality and excellence in education by realizing joint studies and projects in the fields of maritime and aviation sciences. Scientific values increase as long as they are shared. To this end, while the construction works are going on to build up the most contemporary and advanced campus of the nearby geography, we constantly strive to develop cultural, scientific and educational collaborations with the higher education institutions that proven themselves in the international arena”.
