The solo painting exhibition, which brings together 20 artworks of the Uzbek artist Khasan Aminov, including his works depicting different parts of the TRNC, was opened to visitors at the University of Kyrenia Grand Library Exhibition Hall.

The works of the artist titled “The Beauties of Surhanderya”, “Wise Teacher”, “Kyrenia Harbor” and “Guzelyurt” come to the fore in the exhibition opened to visitors. Artist Aminov, who is also the winner of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts Silver Key Honor Award, depicts young women and men in national costumes of Uzbekistan in his work titled “The Beauties of Surhanderya”. Surkhandarya region is a region in Uzbekistan that fascinates people with its natural beauties and stands out with its caves, massifs and passages. In his work titled “The Wise Teacher”, the artist depicts the images of parrots and children and refers to the important role animals play in human life and the development of children.

Aminov’s works, inspired by the landscapes and beauties of various regions of Cyprus, are also included in the exhibition, which meets with art lovers at the University of Kyrenia Grand Library Exhibition Hall. The artist draws inspiration from these works in the historical, cultural, archaeological and religious sites of the Guzelyurt region in his work “Guzelyurt”. “Kyrenia Harbour”, on the other hand, is included in the exhibition as one of the works of the artist inspired by Kyrenia.

Who is Khasan Aminov?
Born in Tashkent, Uzbekistan on February 2, 1962, Khasan Aminov was the Head of the Education Department at the Cumhuriyet Art College between 1993-1995; between 2005-2010, he worked as a director in the same institution. He served as the Rector of Kamoliddin Behzod National Institute of Art and Design between 2010-2019. Two solo exhibitions were opened within the scope of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts in 2019 and 2022. He was presented with the Silver Key Honor Award for his dedicated works in the field of art.
