Protective nasal spray, of which Near East University is a project and patent partner, has been made available by IKAS Pharma under the brand name Olirin in TRNC.
Near East University has launched the protective nasal spray, of which it is a project partner, in the TRNC under the brand name Olirin, in order to prevent the transmission of SARS-CoV-2, which causes COVID-19, to cells.
Olirin, which can be administered through the nose and mouth, on the one hand prevents SARS-CoV-2 from binding to the cells in the upper respiratory tract, and on the other hand, it kills viruses with its antiviral effect and provides dual protection. Olirin is also effective against viruses other than SARS-CoV-2.
Developed in partnership with Near East University, Perugia University, European Biotechnology Association (EBTNA) and Italian MAGI Group, the spray was started to be used in the fight against COVID-19 in Italy in February 2021. Olirin, of which production and distribution rights in the TRNC, Turkey and Turkic Republics belong to the Near East Enterprises, is planned to be made available in Turkey in the near future.
Olirin is in pharmacies with the assurance of IKAS Pharma
Protective spray Olirin, produced from completely natural ingredients, is a product with natural ingredients, obtained from olive leaf extract. For this reason, the brand selection was inspired by the word "olive", which means olive in English.
İKAS Pharma, which has reached a wide pharmaceutical portfolio with its innovative vision and agreements with many leading companies and manufacturers, will carry out the distribution of Olirin in the TRNC, although it has been only two years since its establishment. İKAS Pharma, which distributes Olirin to pharmacies in the TRNC, will soon bring the product to users in Turkey through all pharmacies and online sales sites.
