The joy of University of Kyrenia 2018 – 2019 Spring Semester Graduation Ceremony

University of Kyrenia (UoK) 2018 – 2019 Spring Semester Graduation Ceremony was held on campus with a magnificent organization. The member of Higher Education, Planning, Evaluation, Accreditation and Coordination Council (YÖDAK) Prof. Dr. Hasret Balcıoğlu, the Kyrenia Governor Sinan Güneş, Republic of Turkey Ministry of Transport, Maritime and Communications , Head of the Department of Marine Inland Waterway Education and Certification Cem Erdem, Uok Rector Prof. Dr. İlkay Salihoğlu, Vice Rectors, Deans, Dr. Suat Günsel University of Kyrenia Hospital Head Physician Prof. Dr. Nail Bulakbaşı, Dr. Suat Günsel University of Kyrenia Dental Hospital Head Physician Prof. Dr. Serap Çetiner, UoK Founding Member of the Board of Trustees Mehmet Soykut, Director of UoK Education Foundation Dr. Mutlu Soykurt, Vice Deans, Head of Departments, Directors of Vocational Schools, academic staff, family and guests attended the ceremony.

The graduates entered the ceremony with an applause of their families and guests and took their places with happiness and pride. After a minute of silence followed by the National Anthem, our Rector. Dr. İlkay Salihoğlu presented the opening speech of the graduation ceremony. Prof. Dr. İlkay Salihoğlu emphasized that as the main source of science universities represent culture and development. Salihoğlu stated that integrating with the society and contributing to the social welfare are among the most important goals of University of Kyrenia. Prof. Dr. İlkay Salihoğlu wished the graduates success in their future lives and careers and reminded that learning is a lifelong process.

After the rectors speech, our student Taylan Yanık who scored the highest grade for the 2018 – 2019 academic year, who has completed the Faculty of Maritime, Maritime Transportation and Management Engineering department received his certificate of success and gifts.

Taylan Yanık and Andrew Oghenetega Asoboro student of Maritime Transportation and Management Engineering Department presented their speech on behalf of the graduates.

The program continued with the presentation of certificates to our 60+ Refreshment University students. Soner Sonmez, student of 60+ refreshment university who showed the most attendance received his certificate from the Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Gökmen Dağlı and also presented his speech full of emotions and also thanked everyone who has made an contribution.

Dean Prof. Dr. Süleyman Tolun and academic staffs presented the faculty students their diplomas after Orhan Delikuş, our Faculty of Aviation and Space Sciences student presented his speech.

Nurudeen Modibo Nuru presented his speech on behalf of the Faculty of Maritime Management and Administration graduates. Dean Prof. Aysel Karafistan and academic staffs presented the diplomas to their graduates.

2018-2019 Spring Term Graduation Ceremony continued with the presentation of diplomas to the students of Maritime Faculty, Maritime Academy and Maritime Vocational School. Graduates who scored the highest grades received their certificate of success from the Acting Dean of the Faculty of Maritime Studies, Assoc. Prof. Mehmet Fatih Hüseyinoğlu and their lecturers. Can Uçuk who scored the second highest grade within the faculty received his certificate from the YODAK member Prof. Dr. Hasret Balcıoğlu, Cem Erdem who scored the third highest score received his certificate from the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Transport, Maritime and Communications , Head of the Department of Marine Inland Waterway Education and Certification Cem Erdem.

Graduates received their diplomas from the Acting Dean Assoc. Prof. Dr. Mehmet Fatih Hüseyinoğlu and their lecturers, after Kadir Haciosmanoğlu who scored the top highest grade within the Maritime Academy, Erkan Yücel who scored the second highest grade, Halil İbrahim Kiliç who scored the third highest grade, Berk Atıcı who scored the top highest grade within Maritime Vocational School, Alev Köseoğlu who scored the second highest grade and Serdar Yüksek who scored the third highest grade received their certificates of success. At the end of the presentation of diplomas, students carried out the traditional maritime log stamping ritual and naval salute.

At the final part of the graduation ceremony, Yeşimcan Sertel who scored the top highest grade within the Vocational School of Health Services, Hicren Ersoy who scored the second highest grade and Büşra Ödemiş who scored the third highest grade received their certificates of success form the UoK Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Rüveyde Bundak, the Director of Vocational School of Health Services Prof. Dr. Arzu Babayiğit, and from the NEU Director of Vocational School of Health Services Assoc. Prof. Dr. Aslı Aykaç.

After Yeşimcan Sertal presented her speech on behalf of the graduates, the diplomas were presented to all the graduates by the management staff from the Vocational School of Health Services and by the lecturers. Finally the graduates of the Vocational School of Health Services made an oath together under the leadership of Prof. Dr. Arzu Babayiğit.

The ceremony which was full of emotions, pride and happiness ended with the cut of the graduation cake and the cocktail.
