The “Fine Arts End-of-Year Exhibition” to be held by the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts will be opened by President Ersin Tatar on Thursday, 09 December at the Exhibition Hall of the Near East Art Museum

The “Fine Arts End-of-Year Exhibition”, consisting of the artworks of faculty members and artists of the Near East University Faculty of Fine Arts, will be opened by President Ersin Tatar at the Exhibition Hall of the Near East Art Museum on Thursday, 09 December at 16.00.

The exhibition, which will feature artworks of 15 lecturers from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Near East University and 45 artworks of the artist, will consist of paintings, sculptures, ceramics and prints.

The “Fine Arts End-of-Year Exhibition”, curated by Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erdoğan Ergün, Near East University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design Deputy Dean and GÜNSEL Art Museum Director, can be visited free of charge until Friday, December 24, 2021.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erdoğan Ergün: “No negativity can stop art and artistic production, because there is no life without artistic production.”
Reminding that the anxiety and fear caused by the COVID-19 pandemic, which started in the first days of 2020, continued in 2021, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erdoğan Ergün, the curator of the “Fine Arts End-of-Year Exhibition”, which is the 399th exhibition organized by the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, said, “No negativity can stop art and artistic production, because without artistic production there is no life.” Stating that they continue artistic production despite all the negativities, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ergün said the “Fine Arts End-of-Year-Exhibition” reflects the hopeful power of art.

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ergün said, “Art museums are one of the most important sources to be used to write the history of art.” Emphasizing that it is a great prestige for a living artist to have his work in the art museum, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Erdoğan Ergün said, “Having been motivated from this, we, as the Near East University Faculty of Fine Arts, are proud to open the ‘Fine Arts End-of-Year Exhibition’ on behalf of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts.”
