The academic year just days away, the first exhibition of the new term has opened to visitors on the Near East University campus. Featuring works by 20 academic artists from the Near East University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design, the “Blended Traces” exhibition is presented to art lovers at the Dorana Residence Exhibition Hall. Blending academic knowledge with artistic production, the exhibition offers visitors an inspiring experience, featuring 50 original works made by using painting, sculpture, ceramics, and printmaking techniques. The exhibition, which is free of charge, will be open to the public throughout September.
The exhibition was curated by Prof. Dr. Erdoğan Ergün who said that the “Blended Traces” exhibition showcases both the individual and collective creative power of artist-academics. “Works from different disciplines, produced by using different techniques, come together to represent a shared memory and an effort to leave a mark.”, said Prof. Dr. Ergün, adding, “While each work bears traces of the artist’s personal journey, the unity they create together reminds us of the unifying and transformative power of art. We value the fact that in this exhibition, visitors experience both the artists’ personal touches and the reflection of our faculty’s academic knowledge in artistic production.”
