“Airport Safety Awareness Seminar” was organized by the Faculty of Aviation and Space Sciences for the 2018 – 2019 Academic Year Fall Semester students studying in the departments of Aeronautical Engineering, Aviation Management and Pilotage. The seminar organized with the aim of informing the students about the up to date applications of the theoretical subjects they have learned, airport operations and plans to be implemented in case of emergency within the airport.

HüseyinTolgaTarkuçfrom Civil Aviation Department andAsst. Prof. Abdullah Oraj Hüseyiniklioğlu attended the seminar as speakerand Asst. Prof.Amir Teimourian and Asst. Prof.NalanGelirli as Organizing Committee member. The seminar focused on topics such as “Importance of Aviation Security”,” International and National Legislation and Organization “, “Passenger and Staff Screening” and “ Incident Reporting “.

During the 1 hour trip at Ercan Airport within the scope of “Airport Security” topic , the students were given the opportunity to receive information on key areas and locations on the airport map and also security restricted areas and critical parts of the airport.

At the end of the seminar the students were given a certificate of participation and a certificate of appreciation was presented to the speakers.
