TRNC’s first registered solar powered car NEU-RA 25,produced by NEU, sibling university of University of Kyrenia, will be exhibited at Future Tech Conference which will be held in Cape Town in South Africa. Future Tech conference is an annual event that organized by Popular Mechanics, which is a classic magazine of popular technology. Future Tech 2014 themed on “Altered Realities” provides platforms for curious speakers to present surprising facts and new ideas.

According to the press release from the Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office of NEU (Near East University Nicosia, Cyprus), NEU-RA 25 participated in the International Sasol Solar Challenge held in South Africa and completed the race in the 8th position. Sasol Solar Challenge, which is a race of technology, was observed and evaluated carefully by Popular Mechanics, the magazine of popular technologies. As NEU-RA 25 has distinctive design features, PM’s officials offered the Near East University to exhibit NEU-RA 25 at Future Tech 2014.
