Health checks, emergency services, and development processes of all athletes are now under the protection of the Near East through the health sponsorship protocol signed between Near East University Hospital and the TRNC Gymnastics Federation.
The TRNC Gymnastics Federation has signed an official health sponsorship protocol with Near East University Hospital to ensure the health of its athletes. The protocol was signed at a ceremony held at the Cyprus Car Museum by Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel, Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Near East Enterprises, and Hasan Sapsızoğlu, President of the TRNC Gymnastics Federation. Thus, Near East University Hospital, previously the health sponsor of the Cyprus Turkish Football Federation and the TRNC Hunting Federation, now became the official health sponsor of the TRNC Gymnastics Federation.
In the new era, the TRNC Gymnastics Federation has introduced a requirement for professional athletes in gymnastics, as it does in many other sports, to obtain a comprehensive medical report during the licensing process. As part of the partnership between the two institutions, athletes will undergo comprehensive health screenings at Near East University Hospitals, and their reports will be submitted to the federation. These screenings will be carried out using the fully equipped infrastructure and competent medical staff of Near East University Hospital, Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia University Hospital, and Near East University Yeniboğaziçi Hospital.
The Health of Gymnastics is Under the Guarantee of the Near East!
Under the official health sponsorship agreement signed between the TRNC Gymnastics Federation and Near East University Hospital at the Cyprus Car Museum, all healthcare services, including ambulance services, first aid, hospital checkups, and potential surgeries, will be provided free of charge by Near East University Hospitals for one year in the event of any adverse events during training, competitions, or festivals. Furthermore, genetic talent tests will be administered to athletes to determine their individual potential and support their development using scientific methods.
In addition to health checks, all athletes affiliated with the federation will benefit from a 50% discount on dental treatments and a 20% discount on non-sports general healthcare services. Additionally, club presidents, board members, and coaches will receive a 20% discount on general healthcare services. Athletes and federation members will also receive a 15% discount at the Near East Sports Tower and Near East Olympic Swimming Pool.
Hasan Sapsızoğlu: “Professionally monitoring the health of our athletes is of great importance to us. Our partnership with Near East University Hospital is a major step in this direction.”
TRNC Gymnastics Federation President Hasan Sapsızoğlu emphasized that gymnastics is a sport that requires discipline, balance, and strength, and should be started from a young age. He said, “Professionally monitoring the health of our athletes, as well as their physical development, is of great importance to us. Our partnership with Near East University Hospital is a major step in this direction.”
“Thanks to this protocol, all our athletes will undergo regular health screenings, and potential risks will be identified early. Furthermore, discounts provided for dental, general health, and athlete development support programs will also be a significant gain. This strong step will both increase the safety of sports and elevate the gymnastics culture in our country to a more professional level. I thank the Near East Enterprises for its support of sports.”
Prof. Dr. İrfan Suat Günsel: “This protocol is not just a sponsorship, it is a joint investment in sports, youth, and a healthy future.”
