Near East University Hospital and Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia University Hospital employees vaccinated against COVID – 19

Vaccination started against COVID-19, which has affected the world. The vaccination schedule determined in order of priority continues to be implemented in the TRNC. In this context, Near East University Hospital and Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia University Hospital employees were also vaccinated today. With the vaccination of healthcare workers included in the priority list of the Ministry of Health’s vaccination program, an important step was taken in the fight against COVID-19 in our country. The second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, which should be made in two doses, will be given on February 13, 2021, to Near East University Hospital employees, who received the first dose of the vaccine.


As part of the vaccination application that started in the morning hours at the Near East University Hospital, Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia University Hospital employees were also vaccinated. Near East University Hospital Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Müfit C. Yenen and Dr. Suat Günsel University of Kyrenia Hospital Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Nail Bulakbaşı was also among the persons that were vaccinated.

Chief physicians made statements after vaccination emphasized the importance of vaccination in order to develop community immunity against COVID-19. It was also emphasized that Dr. Suat Günsel University of Kyrenia Hospital and Near East University Hospital are ready to take part in the COVID-19 vaccination in our country.


Prof. Dr. Müfit C. Yenen: “When your turn comes, make sure to get your vaccine.”
Near East University Hospital Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Müfit C. Yenen emphasized the importance of vaccination in order to achieve an effective result in combating the COVID-19 pandemic and warned; “Make sure you have your vaccine when your turn comes”. Stating that the vaccine alone will not be enough to protect against COVID-19, Prof. Dr. Yenen added that social distance and mask applications should continue with the same sensitivity in order to protect against the virus after vaccination.

Dr. Suat Günsel University of Kyrenia Hospital Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Nail Bulakbaşı emphasized the importance of the vaccine for protection from COVID-19 and said, “You can get the COVID-19 vaccine with peace of mind without any worries.” Prof. Dr. Bulakbaşı said that the COVID-19 vaccine is not only for protection from the virus, but also provides a much easier recovery from the disease.
