strong>Due to the decision taken by the Board of Trustees, Near East University Hospital and Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia University Hospital Chief Physicians Prof. Dr. Müfit C. Yenen and Prof. Dr. Nail Bulakbaşı made a statement about the scope of these services.
Reminding that Burhan Nalbantoğlu State Hospital was declared as a pandemic hospital because of Covid-19, Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia University Hospital Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Nail Bulakbaşı stated that until the public hospital’s pandemic duty ended, our people can benefit free of charge from the emergency healthcare services of the Near East University Hospital and Dr. Suat Günsel Kyrenia University Hospital. Prof. Dr. Bulakbaşı noted that all patients, except those suffering from cough, fever and shortness of breath, could apply to the emergency services of both hospitals. Prof. Dr. Nail Bulakbaşı stated that this practice will continue until the pandemic duty of the public hospital ends. Prof. Dr. Nail Bulakbaşı continued as follows regarding the services provided at the emergency departments; “Besides medical examinations, laboratory examinations and radiological procedures required for the initial diagnosis of our patients who apply to our emergency departments, all kinds of medical procedures required for outpatient treatment services are within the scope of free services.”
Stating that the Covid-19 outbreak makes life difficult for people all over the world, Near East University Hospital Chief Physician Prof. Dr. Müfit C. Yenen, on the other hand, stated that especially those such as cancer patients, diabetic patients and pregnant women who need to have regular checks have a harder life due to the risk of infection. In line with the decisions taken by the Board of Trustees, Prof. Yenen said that they mobilized their current opportunities for these patient groups. Prof. Dr. Müfit C. Yenen stated that these patient groups are provided free examination at both hospitals during the pandemic. Prof. Dr. Müfit C. Yenen; “During the pandemic, both the examinations and routine tests required during these examinations will be provided by our specialist doctors and hospitals free of charge. In order for our patients to benefit from healthcare services, it is sufficient to make an appointment with our university hospitals. We want everyone to stay home and safe in this process. But for those who need healthcare services, we are ready and at your service with our hospitals.”
