TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev and the accompanying delegation visited Near East University Founding Rector Dr. Suat İrfan Günsel and honored him with TURKSOY’s highest Order of Honor, Gold Medal, for his outstanding contributions to the culture and art of the Turkic world.
In his speech at the reception, TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev stated that they are grateful to Dr. Suat İrfan Günsel for his outstanding contributions to the Turkic world and that Dr. Günsel’s existence is of great importance for the Turkish World, especially the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, and they are happy that the Turkish World has been brought together under the roof of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts.
Sultan Raev: “I traveled the world, I did not see such a university.”
Raev said that he visited the entire campus, especially the Cyprus Car Museum and the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts. Reav said, “As someone who has traveled all over the world, I can say that I have never encountered such a university before.` He also stated that students will learn to respect beauty thanks to the education they will receive intertwined with works of art.
Rectors of universities affiliated to TURKSOY will meet at Near East University in 2023
TURKSOY Secretary General Sultan Raev stated that they are honored and happy that the 2023 university rectors meeting of the countries affiliated to TURKSOY will be held in cooperation and hosting with the Near East University, as a result of the decision they made during his visit. Raev emphasized that the hosting of the Near East University sets a pioneering and exemplary role in many fields, especially education, art and culture, and that it is very important that this meaningful meeting will take place at the Near East University.
Dr. Suat İrfan Günsel: “I am honored to receive the TURKSOY Order of Honor Gold Medal, which was bestowed on me.”
Near East University Founding Rector Dr. Suat İrfan Günsel, in his speech at the reception of Türksoy Secretary General Sultan Raev, stated that he was honored to receive TURKSOY’s highest Order of Honor, Gold Medal, which was conferred on him by TURKSOY.
Dr. Günsel stated that they have been working for 43 years to bring the Turkish world closer. Emphasizing the importance of the mission that TURKSOY has undertaken for many years in this direction, he expressed his happiness to walk together in the light of common goals.
At the end of the speeches, ‘family photo’ shoot was taken, as well as the mutual presentation of gifts and plaques.
