The 1st International Mediterranean World Research Symposium will be held in Kyrenia under the host of Near East University and University of Kyrenia.
The 1st International Mediterranean World Research Symposium will be realized with the participation and contribution of Aegean University Faculty of Arts and Turkish Historical Society.
The 1st International Mediterranean World Research Symposium, which will be hosted by Near East University and University of Kyrenia, will be realized on October 20-21, 2016 with the participation of Aegean University Faculty of Arts and Turkish Historical Society.
Symposium aims to ensure an insight into the latest developments in social sciences and encourage the diffusion of innovations in the respective field.
According to the common statement delivered by Near East University and University of Kyrenia, the 1st International Mediterranean World Research Symposium would be held to provide platform for scientists to debate and exchange ideas regarding the latest developments in social sciences concerning Mediterranean World/Basin. Besides, the symposium aims to provide TRNC and Turkey with flow of new information and documents.
The symposium will be chaired by Prof. Dr. M. Akif Erdoğru from Aegean University. Prof. Dr. Refik Turan, Chairman of Turkish Historical Society, Prof. Dr. Candeğer Yılmaz, Rector of Aegean University, and Assoc. Prof. Dr. İrfan S. Günsel, Chairman of Near East University Board of Trustees, will take part in the Honor Committee.

The 1st International Mediterranean World Research Symposium welcomes submission of abstracts either in Turkish or English. An abstract can cover any issue regarding Mediterranean World/Basin and any discipline associated with social sciences. The title of the article and its abstract should be submitted not later than August 31, 2016. Abstracts submitted for presentation shall go through a peer-reviewed process and final selection of abstracts will be done by members of the Scientific Committee. The highest scoring abstracts will be selected for presentation. Wednesday 31 August, 2016 is the deadline for abstract submission. Notification of abstract acceptance or rejection will be sent to the presenting author of the abstract by September 23, 2016. Symposium Program Committee will announce the program on Friday 30 September, 2016.

The 1st International Mediterranean World Research Symposium will be realized with the unique contributions of Near East University, University of Kyrenia, Department of History Education of Aegean University and Turkish Historical Society. The symposium will be held in Kyrenia on October 21-22, 2016. Relevant conferences will be held in a different Mediterranean country each year. As the Department of History Education of Near East University Faculty of Arts and Sciences, we will continue to provide contribution to the conferences to be held in the coming years. I would like to emphasize that Near East University and University of Kyrenia will feel the honor of welcoming native and foreign scientist from many countries that involved in studies concerning Mediterranean social sciences” said he.
