It was announced that the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, the Cyprus Car Museum, the Cyprus Herbarium Museum, Natural History Museum which were established in the Museum Area of the Near East University campus, and the Günsel Art Museum located in Dereboyu, are open to visitors free of charge until the end of September.
In the statement made by the Press and Public Relations Directorate of Near East University, it was stated that the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and the Cyprus Car Museum, which is the first modern art museum and the only car museum of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, as well as the Cyprus Herbarium and Natural History Museum and Günsel Art Museum located in Dereboyu can be visited free of charge between 10.00-13.00 on weekdays until the end of September.

The Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, located opposite the Cyprus Car Museum, has been hosting exhibitions and artworks of artists from various countries since its opening. In the museum, which includes paintings and variations of paintings such as acrylic, oil paint, spray paint, airbrush, mixed technique, and drawing techniques, wood carving, marble-ceramic sculpture, clay shaping, metal sculpture, and handmade hunting knives are exhibited. Especially, the acrylic handmade image that depicts the historical and cultural details of the Turkic States on the ceiling of the museum entrance attracts attention.

Günsel Art Museum, founded in the name of the first domestic and national automobile of our country “GÜNSEL” and sharing the same space with “GÜNSEL Promotion Office” in Dereboyu, also hosts oil and acrylic paintings, original prints, engravings, linoleum, serigraphy, lithography, and wood prints. There are also sculptures and ceramics in Günsel Art Museum.

In the museum, where it is possible to experience the historical journeys of brands such as Mercedes, Ford, BMW, which are the fixtures of the automobile world, from the very first models to the latest models of the present day, the museum contains the first produced and last remaining examples of the cars that had been first produced in the world. In the museum, where many legendary sports cars such as Jaguar, Lamborghini Murcielago Roadster, Dodge Viper SRT10 Final Edition, which exceeded the 300 km speed limit, as well as classic vehicles such as the 1899 Model Crestmobil, 1903 model Wolseley and 1909 model Buick, the vast car collection attracts great attention.

To visit the Herbarium and Natural History Museum housing 11 thousand different plant specimens as well as the 1500-1600 plant species, fungi, insect species, various reptile species, marine creatures and Cyprus geology, it is necessary to make an appointment from +90 392 680 2000, ext. 5135.
In the museum, which is located at the Near East University Faculty of Pharmacy building, 140 species unique to Cyprus and 19 species of plants grown in the Beşparmak Mountains specific to Northern Cyprus, 106 types of mushroom groups belonging to 3 different groups, 250 algae, 23 reptile species, insect collections belonging to different taxonomic orders, and examples of 250 million-year-old limestones and 220 million fossilized trees of the Beşparmak mountain range are exhibited.
