Prof. Dr. Nerin Nadir Bahçeciler Önder has been appointed chief physician at Near East University Hospital Yeniboğaziçi, which serves Gazimağusa, İskele, and surrounding areas. Prof. Dr. Aşkın Ali Korkmaz, who has served as chief physician since the hospital’s founding, will continue to see patients in the field of cardiovascular surgery.
Near East University Hospital Yeniboğaziçi continues to be the most well-equipped health center performing life-saving procedures such as angiography, coronary and general intensive care, MRI, and tomography. Prof. Dr. Nerin Nadir Bahçeciler Önder, who has taken over as Chief Physician, stands out with her extensive academic and professional experience. Graduating from Istanbul University Cerrahpaşa Faculty of Medicine in 1989, Bahçeciler Önder took her first steps in the profession at Şişli Etfal Hospital in Istanbul. Between 1995 and 2000, he completed his specialization in Allergy and Immunology at the Department of Pediatrics, Faculty of Medicine, Marmara University. Prof. Dr. Nerin Nadir Bahçeciler Önder, who worked at this university until 2010, was appointed associate professor in 2001 and professor in 2007. Prof. Dr. Bahçeciler Önder, who has been serving as the Head of the Department of Pediatrics at Near East University Faculty of Medicine since 2010, brought his expertise in pediatrics and immunology to Cyprus through his clinical and academic work.
Prof. Dr. Aşkın Ali Korkmaz, who handed over the baton of chief physician, stands out for his expertise in mitral valve treatments and minimally invasive heart surgery. Prof. Dr. Korkmaz will continue to offer his expertise to patients at Near East University Hospital Yeniboğaziçi.
