A journey through Cyprus’s history, a meeting with cultural heritage…
Located at the Walled City Museum at the Kyrenia Gate in Nicosia, visitors will experience Cyprus’s historical past, experiencing its cultural richness and significant historical events from the Ottoman era to the present day, all under one roof. Each floor exhibits works from a different period and style. In addition to over 70 sculptures, paintings, maritime historical objects, and Karagöz figures, the museum also features calligraphy, warrants, and decrees from the Cyprus Foundations Administration and the TRNC National Archives and Research Department, records of the judges of Nicosia, and original 17th-century artifacts. One of the museum’s most striking features are the hyperrealistic silicone sculptures of Turkish Cypriot community leaders Dr. Fazıl Küçük, Rauf Raif Denktaş, and Osman Örek. Visitors can take souvenir photos here, offering a chance to embark on a historical and emotional journey. Paintings by Cypriot artists, reflecting the Nicosia of the 1960s, carry traces of the recent past into the future.
