Farewell to 2020 with Art

The academics and artists of the Faculty of Fine Arts, who came together at the exhibition hosted by Dr. Suat Günsel and held at the Near East University Rectorate Exhibition Hall, emphasized that they will continue to produce with the same productivity and love in 2021 as they say goodbye to 2020 with the exhibition consisting of 31 pieces.

The opening ceremony of the exhibition, which includes 31 works consisting of painting, sculpture, ceramic and print paintings, was realized by the Founding Rector of Near East University Dr. Suat İrfan Günsel who hosted the exhibition. At the opening of the exhibition, where the works of 26 artists were exhibited, the strong and unifying aspect of art under pandemic conditions was emphasized.

Head of Near East Enterprises Museums Department Prof. Dr. Ali Efdal Özkul said that the exhibition, which opened on the last day of the year, stands out as an indication that the artists continue to produce and struggle despite all difficulties. Prof. Dr. Özkul, “The phrase “Art is the Definition of Humanity” expressed by Dr. Suat Günsel, guides us in our works. As long as humanity exists, art production will continue to add value to humanity by opening its own way without being interrupted.”

In the exhibition, which was opened at the Near East University Rectorate Exhibition Hall and will be open to visitors free of charge until January 15, valuable works produced in various subjects and techniques in many fields of plastic arts are exhibited. Art lovers will have the opportunity to see the works of award-winning academics and artists together in the same place at the exhibition, which is the 367th exhibition held exclusively for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts.
