The University of Kyrenia realized some activities within the framework of the 20th anniversary celebrations of the International Organization of Turkic Culture and hosted the Gathering of Painters of TURKSOY under the auspices of the TRNC President Derviş Eroğlu. During this cultural occasion, an agreement envisaging cooperation in a joint cultural and educational framework was signed between the University of Kyrenia and the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY).
According to the press info released by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of the University of Kyrenia, the protocol, which aims to develop educational and cultural cooperation amongst the member countries of TURKSOY, was signed on behalf of their institutions by the Founding Rector of University of Kyrenia Cemre Günsel Haskasap and the Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) Dusen Kaseinov.
Within the framework of the 20th anniversary celebrations of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY), the Founding Rector of University of Kyrenia Cemre Günsel Haskasap hosted a traditional and cultural event regularly organized by TURKSOY..The event provided platform to the painters to exhibit their works. The exhibition featuring 42 paintings of talented artists from different countries of the Turkic World took place at the presence of the TRNC President Derviş Eroğlu along with journalists and a large number of art lovers.
The Founding Rector of University of Kyrenia, Cemre Günsel Haskasap highlighted the importance of the cultural and educational cooperation protocol for TRNC. She expressed commitment on enhancing the current cultural and educational relations with the member countries of TURKSOY by establishing cooperation on sustainable basis amongst Turkic speaking countries and peoples.
The founding Rector Cemre Günsel Haskasap emphasized the significant role of establishing and developing educational and cultural cooperation with the Turkic World and voiced her expectations from the protocol signed between the University of Kyrenia and TURKSOY. “Education and culture know no bounds. Our doors are open for all the member countries of TURKSOY. To the this end, within the framework and in accordance with the resolutions of the signed protocol, the University of Kyrenia is committed to furthering the mutual relations with the Turkic World and making sacrifice much more intensively in establishing cooperation in the field of education and culture on a sustainable basis” said she.
The Secretary General of the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TURKSOY) Dusen Kaseinov drew attention to the importance of the protocol which aims at the promotion of cultural co-operation between the University of Kyrenia and the Member States and at the preservation, revitalization and development of Turkic culture and education as an integral part of global civilization and said: “The protocol envisaging educational and cultural cooperation between the member countries of TURKSOY and the University of Kyrenia from the sister country TRNC will contribute to enrich the relations amongst the countries of the Turkic World. The University of Kyrenia and TÜRKSOY agree to establish co-operative links with each other at the level of their appropriate organs. This co-operation shall extend to all matters relating to fields of education, science and culture and concerning those tasks and activities to be carried out in future” said he.
