-The 5th International Cyprus Educational Research Conference will be held at University of Kyrenia.

-University of Kyrenia is hosting the 5th International Cyprus Educational Research Conference.

According to the press info release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of University of Kyrenia, many researchers will be participating in the 5th International Cyprus Educational Research Conference to be held on University of Kyrenia campus soon.

It was pointed out that in the first of this conference was held at Middle East Technical University Northern Cyprus campus. The subsequent year it was held at Atatürk Öğretmen Akademisi (Ataturk Teacher Training Academy) , then the 3rd was held on Near East University and 4th in Girne American University. This year, University of Kyrenia is hosting the 5th International Cyprus Educational Research Conference on 31st March- 2nd April, 2016 and is being jointly organised by University of Kyrenia and Cyprus Educational Sciences Association.

Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Uzunboylu: “We will be getting together with many researchers from 27 different countries to discuss contemporary issues in Education!”

Making a statement on the matter, Head of Cyprus Educational Sciences Association Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Uzunboylu, expressed that the 5th International Cyprus Educational Research Conference will enable researchers to share latest information and latest applicational trends particularly in the field of education. He added that the conference was being anxiously waited for and that many researchers from 27 different countries will be participating in the conference. Furthermore, he stressed that there were 152 presentations included in the conference program and that these had the opportunity to be published by peer-reviewed journals.

In addition to the above, Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Uzunboylu stated that the conference did not only target researchers but that it was also appropriate for preschool, primary and secondary school teachers working in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. The specific themes of seminars for these teachers were expressed to be “Leadership in Education”, “Effective School Management”, “Innovations in Education”, “School-Parent Communication”, and “Innovative Technologies in Education”. Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Uzunboylu expressed that the spokespersons at the conference were: Prof. Dr. Ferhan Odabaşı presenting “To research or to Teach: The Dichotomy of Academicians”; Prof. Dr. Maral Nurtazina from Kazakhstan to present “Competition Difficulties of Graduates in the labour force market” ; Prof. Dr. Sharon Lierse from Australia “Opportunities and Difficulties the 21st Century students face”; Nicosia English University Rector and Former President of YÖDAK (Higher Education Council) Prof. Dr. Hasan Ali Bıçak; Prof. Dr. Ümit Girgin who will discuss and facilitate an hours’ workshop on “The Evaluation of Reading Strategies of Hearing Impaired Students”.

Making a statement on the matter, Acting Rector of the University of Kyrenia Prof. Dr. İlkay Salihoğlu emphasised how proud they were to host such an important conference. He added that the fact that they will be able to host the conference on their new campus made it even a more special event for them. He stressed that many specialists in the filed of education will be presenting and sharing latest developments in the field and that they were looking forward to hosting the conference as they were sure that it will be very fruitful for the attendees.
