According to press info released by Press and Public Relations Directorate of University of Kyrenia, Counselor Mr. Özkan Poyrazoğlu, the Former General Director of Ministry of Transportation, Marine and Communications of Republic of Turkey gave a conference within the scope of Conference Series of University of Kyrenia at Blue Hall of Faculty of Marine Studies of Near East University, the sister university of University of Kyrenia at 11:00 a.m., on 19 December 2013.

The conferece was held at Blue Hall of Faculty of Marine Sciences of NEU, the sister university of UK, focused on the marine certificates, marine certification, job opportunities and marine regulations and legal aspercts of marine sector. According to statement released by the Rectorate of UK, the business and work conditions and criteria of marine sector are determined and specified by international laws, regulations and conditions; marine education cannot be given unless the requirements of these laws, regulations and conditions are fulfilled; marine education must given in strict accordance with these requirements, criteria and conditions, and University of Kyrenia is offering education in marine studies in strict accordance with all these requirements, laws, regulations and conditions.

Counselor Mr. Özkan Poyrazoğlu, the Former General Director of Ministry of Transportation, Marine and Communications of Republic of Turkey said that he was very happy to be with the students of the Kyrenia University and mentioned that the Marine Sector has its own rules and criteria different than the other sectors. In this respect Özkan Poyrazoğlu gave a conference regarding the job opportunities and sources in marine sector, the laws and regulations used in marine sector and the certificates that are needed in marine sector.
