The award ceremony for the 1st Northern Cyprus Cross-Examination Competition took place on Friday, May 16th, at the University of Kyrenia. The competition, organized by the LLB International Law program, marked the first of its kind in Northern Cyprus, attracting participation from students representing numerous universities in the region.

The distinguished panel of jury members included Narin Ferdi Şefik, retired judge of the Supreme Court; Prof. Dr. Feridun Yenisey from Bahçeşehir University; Assistant Professor Dr. Nurcan Gündüz from Eastern Mediterranean University; Assistant Professor Dr. Aydın Atılgan from Kyrenia University; as well as members of the Cyprus Bar Association, Barrister Meral Birinci Sonan and Nurettin Karagözlü.

The top three winners of the competition were awarded prizes, while all participants received certificates of participation. The first place was awarded to Lina Louange Igiraneza from the University of Kyrenia, LLB – International Law program. The second place went to Shammah Natalia Emoi from Girne American University, and the third place was shared by Franklin Madubuike from the University of Kyrenia, LLB – International Law program and Halimah Miftaudeen-Rauf from Bahçeşehir Cyprus University.

The event was a significant milestone in promoting legal advocacy skills among students and fostering collaboration among academic and legal professionals.”
