The second book in the “Values ​​of Northern Cyprus” series, prepared by University of Kyrenia Faculty Member Assist. Prof. Dr. Mutlu Soykurt, has been published by Near East University Culture Publications. The second book of the series brings together the inspiring story of Raziye Kocaismail, President of the Association for Helping Cancer Patients with readers.

The second book of the “Values ​​of Northern Cyprus” series, which aims to immortalize the stories of the hidden heroes who have made great contributions to the culture and life of the Turkish Cypriot Community, by bringing them together with future generations, is now published. In the first book of the series, Assist. Prof. Dr. Mutlu Soykurt, bringing the story of legendary music teacher Yıldan Birand together with the readers, in the second book of the series brought the the inspiring story of Raziye Kocaismail, President of the Association for Helping Cancer Patients, with the readers.

Assist. Prof. Dr. Mutlu Soykurt, whose specialty is creative curriculum development, carries the inspiring life stories in her “Values ​​of Northern Cyprus” book series into the future with a language and design that will be fun and inspired by everyone who reads it, especially children.

The woman who beat cancer with hope: Raziye Kocaismail!
Assist. Prof. Dr. Mutlu Soykurt designs her books as a moment of homage. Raziye Kocaismail, the heroine of the second book, is one of the symbols of the fight against cancer in the TRNC. Raziye Kocaismail, who was given very little chance of life in 1991, when she was diagnosed with cancer, regained her health in 1993 after a two-year struggle with cancer. Kocaismail, who established the Association for Helping Cancer Patients without waiting, raised a great awareness about cancer in the TRNC through the awareness seminars she organized voluntarily and many social responsibility activities. Assist. Prof. Dr. Soykurt says in her book; “Over the past years, she regained her health, and her surroundings and everyone who believes in her has been reborn. She guided patients who could not reach treatment opportunities, removed cancer from being a taboo, boosted the morale of patients with psychological help programs and helped them to cling to life, established the ‘Hope Education and Culture House’, a first in the country for children who experienced this disease in childhood and had leukemia or lymphoma. Raziye Kocaismail has become an angel of hope for cancer patients living in the TRNC!
