It was announced that the personal exhibition of Rana Amrahova titled as “A Love Message” that includes 35 outstanding art pieces has recently been opened by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Near East University.
According to the press information release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, artist Rana Amrahova created her beautiful art pieces, a total of 35, especially for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and an opening ceremony was held to this personal exhibition to which Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Near East University, Vice Rector of Near East University Prof.Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ, Head of Institute, Deans, academician and guests attended. Furthermore, it was stated that Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ and Rana Amrahova each made a speech at the opening ceremony. Then, subsequent to the speeches, a special opening ceremony was held of the bronze bust statue of Rana Amrahova.
Rana Amrahova: “Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts is the first and only museum in the world that brings Turkic artists and other artists from around the world together!”
Artist Rana Amrahova: “I am highly honoured to be a part of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts project. This museum is quite valuable since it is rich in art collections and since it is the first and only museum that brings the work of Turkic artists and world artists together. Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts is a very important rich and valuable gift for the people of Cyprus and the Turkish world. In fact, it is a project that brings beauty, good luck and goodness to this land. I would like to express gratitude to first of Founding Rector Dr. Suat İ. Günsel and the whole Günsel for providing their support to me in realising this personal exhibition.”
Prof.Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ: “We are trying to make up for the negative impact of COVID-19 pandemic through art!”
In his speech, Vice Rector of Near East University Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ stated that as known, the Covid-19 has had a negative impact all throughout the world causing damage economically, socially and pscychologically and in this regard, they intended to cope and heal this negative impact through art. Furthermore, he stressed that things had to pause for some time for the project of Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and since 25th June 2020, organisations of exhibitions had re-started. He pointed out that the exhibition titled as “A Love Message” was the 351st exhibition opened. He said: “Love is defined as passionately turning towards a person or an object. In other words, love is passion. Moreover, love is one of the most personal issues of humanity throughout history. Love brings happiness and pain, but no matter what happens, human beings cannot help but fall in love. That is why many words have been spoken about love, novels and poems have been written.”
Prof. Dr. Şanlıdağ: “Old City Museum is coming into service within the walls of Nicosia very soon”
He also pointed out that very soon the museum called ‘Old City Museum’ was to be opened very soon within the walled city of Nicosia. He also announced that entry to Near East University Museums, Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, Cyprus Car Museum, Günsel Art Museum and Herbarium and National History Museum will be free of charge starting from 20th July 2020 until the end of August. He emphasised that Suat Günsel highly valued the Old City Museum which is to open soon and that the director of the museum will be Rana Amrahova.
Prof. Dr. Şanlıdağ:“Rana Amrahova is depicting love in her artwork.”
In addition to the above, Vice Rector of Near East University Prof. Dr. Tamer Şanlıdağ stated that Rana Amrahova was an academic member of the Faculty of Fine Arts and Design of Near East University and that her personal exhibition includes her artwork where she reflects her perception of love on canvas. He added that the artist’s calm and unique personality features could be interpreted from her artwork.
An award was presented and the bust statue was opened
Right after the speeches, the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of Near East University Prof.Dr. İrfanS.Günsel, presented the FERGÂNÎ AWARD to Rana Amrahova. Later, the opening of the bronze bust made by Kyrgyzstan Sculptor İsken Abdaliev was realised and the exhibition ribbon was cut.
It was announced that the exhibition will be available to visit until 9th August 2020 during 08:00-16:00 at the exhibition of the Faculty of Medicine of Near East University.
