Artists from various countries are continuing to paint on canvas and ceramics to raise awareness in support of the fight against the new type of coronavirus causing chaos and loss of tens of thousands of lives worldwide (Covid-19).

According to the information given by the Press and Public Relations Directorate of Near East University, artist Abdukodir Rakhimov reflected his art on the canvas to support the fight against Covid-19 and draw attention to the warnings of officials.

Artist Rakhimov said that we should pay attention to the calls and warnings during this challenging process, and stay at home to stay healthy. In the statement, it was reported that for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, an artist will continue every day to share his or her feelings against the virus with three artworks, such as paintings, prints, ceramics or graphite.

Who is Abdukodir Rakhimov?
Abdukodir Rakhimov, who was born in Tajikistan in 1956, graduated from the Tajikistan Art Institute. Since 1985, he has been participating in art exhibitions. He is a member of the Union of USSR Artists since 1987. In 1994, he was nominated for the award of the Shagalov art festival in Vitsebsk, Belarus. In 1999, he served as the technical designer of Boulder-Dushanbe Teahouse in Boulder, USA, Colorado. In 2009, he served as the designer of the Embassy of the Republic of Tajikistan in Berlin. In 1985, he participated in the art exhibition titled “40 Years of Victory” held at the Moscow Central Exhibition Hall. He also participated in art exhibitions such as “Soviet country” and “Worlds through the eyes of the artist” held at the Moscow central exhibition hall. In 1987, he participated in the art exhibition “Youth of the country”. Between 1988 and 2014, he participated in group painting exhibitions in countries such as Japan, Germany, Russia, Belarus, Belgium, Azerbaijan and Italy. In 1986, he opened his solo exhibition at the National Museum of Bangkok. In 1987 and 1989, he organized solo exhibitions at the Algerian Art Museum. In addition, his solo exhibitions were held in countries such as Peru, Russia, Belgium, France, Bulgaria, Italy, USA, and Germany. The artist’s works take place at the Tretyakov Gallery, the Russian Museum of Modern History, the Novokuznetsk art museum, the Nizniy Tagil State Fine Arts Museum, the Lithuanian Vilnius City Museum, the Marc Chagall Museum in Vitebsk, in France and Bulgaria, and featured in art galleries, as well as private collections in Russia, Italy, Bulgaria, France, USA, Germany, Austria and China.
