Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, Cyprus Car Museum, GÜNSEL Art Museum, Walled City Museum and Herbarium and Natural History Museum will open their doors to visitors on Tuesday, September 14. All museums, which can be visited 6 days a week except Monday, will be free for the TRNC citizens.

Adding a great richness to the cultural and artistic life of Northern Cyprus, the Museums of the Near East Enterprises are meeting with their visitors once again. Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, Cyprus Car Museum, Cyprus Herbarium and Natural History Museum, located in the museums area of the Near East University campus, and the Walled City Museum located at the Kyrenia Gate and the GÜNSEL Art Museum in Dereboyu will be open their doors to the public on Tuesday, September 14.

All museums will be open to visitors 6 days a week.
Entrance to the museums, which will be open to visitors 6 days a week except Mondays, will start at 10 am. The museums, which will accept their last visitors at 16.00, will be open until 17.00 during 6 days of the week. All TRNC citizens are granted free entry to the museums, which will also be open on weekends. All students studying at Near East Enterprises schools and anyone working in Enterprises institutions will be able to visit the museums free of charge. In addition, all students coming from abroad and studying at any educational institution in the TRNC will be able to enter museums with a 50% discount. Those under the age of 18 who are tourists in the TRNC will also be able to visit the museums at a 50% discount. While the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, the Cyprus Car Museum and the Cyprus Herbarium and Natural History Museum located on the Near East University campus can be visited with a single ticket, the GÜNSEL Art Museum in Dereboyu will be free for all people of the world.

The meeting point of art and history: Walled City Museum
Awaiting its visitors in the Walled City, the historical region of Nicosia, the Walled City Museum hosts important collections that bring the culture and history of Cyprus to the present, while bringing together valuable contemporary artworks with art lovers. In the Walled City Museum, where works of a different style and period are exhibited on each floor including toy car collection, examples of swords and knives, more than 70 sculptures including hyperrealist silicone sculptures of the symbols of Turkish Cypriot culture, paintings, objects related to maritime history and Karagöz replicas. At the same time, Ottoman period artifacts such as orders of the state, edict, kadı registers belonging to Nicosia, and carpets from the 17th century are exhibited in the museum.

Günsel Art Museum, which was established in the name of “GÜNSEL”, the domestic and national car of our country, and shares the same space with the “GÜNSEL Promotion Office” in Dereboyu, draws attention as one of the museums that brings art to the city center. There are oil paint and acrylic paintings, original prints, engravings, linoleum, serigraphy, lithography, woodcut paintings, sculptures and ceramic works in Günsel Art Museum.

Modern works of art from the Turkish world are waiting for you
Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, one of the museums that will reopen its doors on September 14, has been hosting the works of artists from many different countries since the day it opened. In the museum located on the Near East University campus, there are several paintings and paintings consisting of artworks made in acrylic, oil paint, spray paint, airbrush, mixed technique and drawing techniques. In addition, the examples of wood carving, marble-ceramic sculpture, clay shaping, metal sculpture and handmade hunting knives are also exhibited in the museum.

Automobiles from yesterday to today
Cyprus Car Museum, located on the Near East University campus and the only classic car museum in the country, reveals the development of the modern world and the historical development of automobiles with its rich collection. The 1899 model Crest Mobile, the oldest vehicle owned by the Cyprus Car Museum, where more than 150 cars are exhibited, also has the distinction of being the only one in the world.

250 million years of history of Cyprus
The Herbarium and Natural History Museum, which was created as a result of scientific research over 20 years, awaits its visitors with more than 20 thousand plant and living specimens, as well as the geological materials of Cyprus, of which history goes back 250 million years. In the museum, where 11 thousand different species of plants between 1500-1600 found in Cyprus are exhibited, 140 different plant species unique to Cyprus are also exhibited.

In the museum located in the Near East University Faculty of Pharmacy building; There are 106 fungal groups belonging to 3 different groups, 250 algae, 23 reptile specimens, insect collections belonging to different taxonomic orders, and 250 million-year-old limestones and 220 million fossilized trees of the Beşparmak mountain range.
