A Visit to the Founding Rector Dr. Günsel by Associationof Martyr Families and War Veterans

Head of Association of Martyr Families and War Veterans, Ertan Ersan and his accompanying committee visited the Founding Rector of Near East University, Dr. Suat İ. Günsel.

According to the press info release from the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of Near East University, Founding Rector Dr. Suat İ. Günsel greeted the members of the Association of Martyr Families and War Veterans by presenting each memberflowers at the Near East University Hospital.

Speaking on behalf of his accompanying committee, Head of Association of Martyr Families and War Veterans, Ertan Ersan, expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Founding Rector of Near East University, Dr. Suat İ. Günsel, for the outstanding contributions and success of the Near Eat University and added that this could also be interpreted as the success of the Turkish Cypriot Community as a whole.

Ersan further expressed that they acknowledged the contributions of Near East University as highly significant and that they were very grateful to Dr. Suat İ. Günsel foraccepting their visit of courtesy.

Moreover, Ertan Ersan stated that 65% of the Turkish Cypriot community were martyr families and in this regard they believed that they, as the Association, are dealing with very delicate matters.

Also making a short speech at the courtesy visit, Founding Rector Dr. Suat İ. Günsel emphasised that their presence as the Near East University was due to those who sacrificed their lives for their country and that ‘Near East University’ was truly aware and fully appreciated the Martyrs and War Veterans.

Dr. Günsel further added that he believed it to be a communal responsibility to cherish and appreciate, and in fact an issue which should not be forgotten, the burdens and sacrifices of the Turkish Cypriot Community which lead to the welfare of thefuture generations of today.

In addition to the above, Dr. Suat Günsel stated that, as the Near East University, they were fully awareof the issues mentioned above and that they believed that this very notion could be considered as one of the main reasons behind their success as a university.

At the end of the visit of courtesy, the members of the Association of Martyr Families and War Veterans presented their ‘Martyr’s Do Not Die’ albums to the Founding Rector of Near East University; Dr. Suat İ. Günsel, and Vice Head of Association of Martyr Families and War Veterans presented a bouquet of flowers on behalf of all those who had sacrificed their lives for the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
