A committee from the Smonly Institute of the Russian Academy of Education visited University of Kyrenia on the 15th of April 2019 and received information about the faculties and campus facilities.

After the visit, the president of the Board of Trustees of the Smonly Institute of the Russian Academy of Education Geydar Imanov and the Rector of University of Kyrenia Prof. Dr. İlkay Salihoğlu signed a cooperation protocol for further development of the existing programs, including education, science, culture, scientific research, cooperative conferences, seminars, panels and a student and academic staff exchange program.
