The University of Kyrenia paid a visit to the Higher Education Planning, Evaluation Accreditation and Coordination Council (YÖDAK).

According to the press statement issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations Office of the University of Kyrenia, the Chair of Board of Trustees of Kyrenia University Prof. Dr. İlkay Salihoğlu with his accompanying delegation paid a visit to YÖDAK and came together with Prof. Dr. Hüseyin Gökçekuş, the President of YÖDAK.

During the visit, Prof. Dr. Salihoğlu stated that the required procedures were completed following their application to YÖDAK. Indicating that the University of Kyrenia would begin its educational life in September 2014, Prof. Dr. Salihoğlu emphasized that they had paid the visit to exchange information and as well as to extend their appreciation for contributions that YÖDAK provided them to bring a new university into the service of the country. Highlighting the importance of the guiding role of the criteria and benchmarks set by YÖDAK, Salihoğlu emphasized that the University of Kyrenia would put a novel touch on educational issues and add color to the educational life.

Within the scope of the protocol signed with HEC (YÖK), the University of Kyrenia will provide education within NEU Campus for academic year 2014-2015…

Salihoğlu delivered information regarding the academic year 2014-15 by stating that, the University of Kyrenia would carry out its educational activities at two faculty buildings allocated to them within the campus of the sister university, NEU.

The University of Kyrenia will provide education in its own facilities in academic year 2015-2016…

Indicating that the University of Kyrenia would provide education in its own facilities from on September 2015, Salihoğlu said that the first phase of the campus, which was scheduled to be completed in a short time, would cost 80 million USD. He also emphasized that the University of Kyrenia would be equipped with the latest technological infrastructure of the highest standard that required for maritime and aviation education. Salihoğlu gave the good news that they had begun to host their mariners and aviators at the Guest House Complex constructed by the University of Kyrenia in the center of Kyrenia.

In transportation, the University of Kyrenia will have the name of TRNC written in golden letters…

Salihoğlu stated that educational programs and as well as certificate programs would be implemented concurrently by the University of Kyrenia, which is the first and only maritime and aviation university in Cyprus and Eastern Mediterranean Region. Drawing attention to the devotion of the University of Kyrenia in providing the most quality education regarding maritime and aviation, Prof. Dr. Salihoğlu underlined their resoluteness to have the name of TRNC written in golden letters in the field of transportation.

According to the press statement, YÖDAK President Gökçekuş voiced his appreciation for the visit paid by the authorities of the University of Kyrenia, and as well as for the information provided by them.
