The monument consisting of bronze sculptures symbolizing 14 Turkic countries took their place in front of the Near East University Rectorate and the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, which is under construction. Independent or autonomous Turkic republics and communities are symbolized in the monument. There are a total of 30 bronze sculptures in the monument. The magnificence of the sculptures completed at the Near East University Sculpture Workshop will increase once more with the opening of the new building of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts!
The Near East University campus continues to integrate with art with the newly exhibited sculptures. Following the Liberty Monument, the Heraldists Monument and the Technology Hunter Monument, which was opened last week, 30 bronze statues symbolizing 14 Turkic countries were erected in a special area. So far, the number of monumental sculptures that were made at the Near East University Sculpture Workshop and exhibited on the campus approached 200.
When the sculptures decorating the streets of the TRNC outside the campus and the monumental sculptures exhibited at museums are added to this number, the number of sculptures made by the Near East University Sculpture Workshop exceeds 500. Sculptures that appear in different fields make art a part of daily life in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
