9 exhibitions on the Near East University Campus, 3 on the University of Kyrenia Campus and 1 on the Near East Yeniboğaziçi Campus continue to meet with art lovers free of charge.

The beautiful and remarkable exhibitions opened by the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts in Nicosia, Kyrenia and Yeniboğaziçi continue to create an art feast in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus. 14 exhibitions that bring together ship models, paintings, sculptures and prints are still open to visitors free of charge.

Among the eight exhibitions open to visitors, one of the most striking is the “Dardanelles Naval Warship Models Exhibition” opened at the exhibition hall of the Near East University Grand Library. Bringing contemporary art together with history, the exhibition brings the Dardanelles Naval Battle, which had important effects in world history, to the present day with a uniquely rich collection. Dardanelles Naval Warships Collection Exhibition, opened by the Turkish Ambassador to Nicosia Ali Murat Başçeri at the Near East University Grand Library Exhibition Hall, included 26 ship models in 1/100 scale from the Nusret Mine Ship to Queen Elizabeth, one-to-one scale sea mines and consists of works depicting scenes from war with torpedoes.

The two maritime-themed exhibitions of the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts bring together beautiful paintings, sculptures, illustrations, printmaking and realistic ship models at the Near East Art Museum. The Fine Arts Maritime Exhibition, which was opened with the participation of President Ersin Tatar and is currently open to visitors, brings together 45 marine-themed works of the faculty members of the Near East University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design. In the Ship Models Exhibition, there are realistic models of important ships such as Fenerbahçe Ferry, Aleppo Ferry, 1850 Beşiktaş, River Ship, Paşabahçe Ferry, Baştarde, Bandırma Ferry, Savarona Yacht and Söğütlü Yacht.

Art festival at the Near East University Campus
Other exhibitions that transform the Near East University campus into a living art center are awaiting for their visitors in the exhibition halls of Atatürk Culture and Congress Center, Faculty of Dentistry and Near East University Hospital. Fine Arts ‘May’ Exhibition consisting of 40 works in total, prepared by 15 academicians-artists from the Faculty of Fine Arts of Near East University for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, and a personal ceramic exhibition entitled “Dedication”, consisting of 16 ceramic sculptures belonging to Kazakh artist Bagdat Sarsenbiyev, are open to visitors at the Atatürk Culture and Congress Center Exhibition Hall.

The solo oil painting exhibition titled “Existence”, consisting of 30 works exclusively prepared by Turkish Cypriot painter Aşık Mene for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, is still open to visitors at the Near East University Faculty of Dentistry Exhibition Hall. Aşık Mene, who defines his works as “a pictorial reckoning with the pandemic process”, said, “The emotional productions in my paintings reflect the intense atmosphere of the ‘work and existence’ impulses brought by the pandemic environment.”

Opened on October 27 with the participation of the Minister of National Education and Culture, Olgun Amcaoğlu, Tajik artist Abdukodir Rakhimov’s solo painting exhibition titled “The Environment of the Future” and the “Group Sculpture Exhibition” bringing together the sculptures of Kazakh and Kyrgyz artists are still taking place at the Near East University Hospital Exhibition.

The ninth exhibition, which will be open to visitors on the Near East University Campus, will be opened on November 3 with the participation of President Ersin Tatar. The photography exhibition, hosted by the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts, in cooperation with Near East University and the International Organization of Turkic Culture (TÜRKSOY), will be opened in honor of the 30th anniversary of the independence of Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.

4 exhibitions await visitors in Kyrenia and Yeniboğaziçi
The exhibitions opened by the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts and currently open to visitors are not limited to the Near East University Campus. “Cyprus Landscape and Variations” and “Time Poem” exhibitions prepared by artists Alexey Utkin and Asgat Dinikeyev for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts are still awaiting for art lovers at the University of Kyrenia Fine Arts Gallery. There are 40 works in total in the exhibitions. Another exhibition awaiting its visitors at the University of Kyrenia Campus is Kazakh artist Andrey Orazbayev’s solo painting exhibition titled “Map of Memory”, exclusively prepared for the Cyprus Museum of Modern Arts. The exhibition, which is open to visitors free of charge at the University of Kyrenia Grand Library, includes 30 works by Andrey Orazbayev.

Near East University Faculty of Fine Arts and Design Faculty Member Assist. Prof Dr. Mine Okur’s exhibition titled “Reflections of Nature”, which brings together 55 works of Mine Okur, is on exhibition at the Near East Yeniboğaziçi Campus. The exhibition brings together Mine Okur’s printmaking, charcoal sketches and canvas paintings.
