Having completed all necessary procedures regarding the establishment of University of Kyrenia Sports Club, the Club will be competing in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) Basketball League in the 2016-2017 Basketball Season.

According to the press info release issued by the Directorate of Press and Public Relations of University of Kyrenia, the membership of the University of Kyrenia Sports Club has been approved by the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Basketball Federation. In this regard, the sports club will be competing in the 2016-2017 Basketball Season. Furthermore, it was expressed that the team was expected to compete in the league with a highly competent team and will be the eighth team to compete other teams in the TRNC Basketball Federation League.
