Graduation Ceremony of Faculty of Maritime Studies of University of Kyrenia was held at the Blue Hall.

Prof. Dr. İlkay Salihoğlu, President of Board of Trustees of University of Kyrenia, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Altunç, Dean of Faculty of Maritime Studies, lecturers, students and parents of students participated at the graduation ceremony. Following the presentation of graduation project of Şükrü Furkan Bilgili, one of the students of the faculty, speeches delivered on behalf of the students.

Jerry Davoukataiko delivered a speech on behalf of the students. Following this, Prof. Dr. Mustafa Altunç, the Dean of the Faculty of Maritime Studies, stated that the University of Kyrenia has given its first graduates.

Prof. Dr. Altunç said, “I can proudly state that our graduates are serving in the seas of the world, from Australia to England, and in other countries…”. Prof. Dr. Altunç also emphasized that students graduating from the University of Kyrenia have the right to work in all departments related to maritime sector as the graduates of the university are conferred upon all the certificates required by the International Maritime Organization (IMO). Altunç also pointed out that graduates of the university are proudly waving the flag of the university in every corner of the oceans throughout the world. Altunç also mentioned about the most specific characteristics of the graduates of the university and said, “The most specific characteristics of the graduates are highly diciplined, highly motivated, always in an attempt to be the best, and always enthusiastic to achieve the highest level of success. We believe in them, we trust them, we do expect them to be in search of the best always. I do wish all the success to our graduates.”

Prof. Dr. İlkay Salihoğrlu, President of the Board of Trustees of the University of Kyrenia, said in his speech, “Never give up, never leave a task uncompleted, go on and always complete your tasks, even if the result is not as you have desired. Don’t try to be leaders, just become leaders of your field…”
